When you have two sides to any battle, you need someone with uncompromising principles and a flair for the dramatic to save the day. In this season, the beautiful and outspoken Dr. Michiko Daimon (Ryoko Yonekura) continues her work as a freelance surgeon in this hit medical drama and continues to fight for her patients’ best interests. On a trip to an island, Michiko comes across a luxury cruise ship accident where some of the passengers have been injured. Among the injured is Ryunosuke Busujima (Shiro Ito), a former hospital director that she has worked with in the past. Michiko treats Ryunosuke and they part ways. Back at home, Ryunosuke becomes hospitalized at the National Center for Advanced Medical Care after suffering from a cardiac tumor and ruptured hepatocellular carcinoma. Before Ryunosuke’s surgery, two different groups of doctors argue over his care. Michikio breaks up the argument and boldly declares that she will operate because Ryunosuke is her patient! “Doctor-X” is one of the most popular Japanese medical drama series.
