In a desperate hunt to track down a top-secret metal box during World War II, China’s best forensics experts are called to duty. The year is 1945, and an iron box containing the top-secret files detailing the Japanese biological weapons program go missing. Police director Mo Cai Shi (Wu Gang) assigns top police detective Cheng Chi Hong (Qiao Zhen Yu) to help track down the missing files. Working alongside forensics expert Ouyang Qian (Ady An), Chi Hong and Qian bicker through their new assignment, which oddly involves a number of unexpected murder cases. But Chi Hong and Qian’s close working relationship doesn’t make Huo Xue Er (Guo Xiao Ting), the daughter of the police chief, too happy because she wants Chi Hong’s heart for herself. Qian’s junior apprentice, Li Li Lan (Wang Wei), has more sinister plans in mind than helping with the investigation. Can Chi Hong and Qian find the missing metal box in time to save the war? “Epiphyllum Dream” is a 2015-2016 Chinese drama series directed by Zeng Xiao Xin. It is based on a novel by the same title written by Chen Juan.
